To redesign the BBC e-commissioning portal and pitching process. Deliver an intuitive design solution for both BBC commissioners and pitching production companies that simplifies, excites and delivers efficiency.
What we delivered
A complete digital design solution. Naming, identity, look and feel, tone of voice, assets, design templates and guidelines, interaction design, user journeys, wireframes, interface specification, UX&D strategy, need analysis, competitor analysis, audience analysis, feature analysis, research, prototyping and digital design for desktop and mobile platforms.
How we did it
Following Origin’s proven methodology, we worked with BBC stakeholders and the technology delivery partner. A detailed specification aligned all stakeholders and formed the basis of our delivery map.
Understanding the audiences, and their frustrations with the old system, was an essential part of the process. Relevant insight was delivered through co-creation workshops with identified users. The research informed our design recommendations for the UX&D strategy. User journeys and wireframes were developed to map and inform the interface specification.
The creative solution was to create a BBC Pitch brand and a simple, responsive, mobile, design concept that worked within the sharepoint platform. The brand identity allowed us to create a unique set of brand assets, which challenged the platform and simplified the user experience. In addition, user-specific interfaces allowed custom views, personalisation plus access to relevant content. All brand assets and templates were provided to the technology delivery partner. Testing and support throughout ensured digital design integrity and effectiveness.
Outcomes
A digital pitch portal positively received throughout the BBC. A branded solution aligned to the overarching BBC mission and vision.
